Our Trails Are Not Just For Walking – Try Cross Country Skis!

Someone had already made a trail behind the airport in the Cherry Brook Preserve.

The day after the big March snow storm was a perfect day to get out on the trail on cross-country skis. Many of our trails are well used in the winter, by humans on foot, or dogs or wild animals. Today I set out for the trails in the Cherry Brook Preserve via the Pine Brae entrance. The road to the parking area hadn’t been plowed, so I parked at the top of the hill and made my way through mostly virgin snow and a few foot prints to the trail. I was delighted to find that someone living near Linton Drive had already forged a ski path behind the airport and around the corn field. Pristine snow, clear blue sky, no wind, just beautiful!

The ski trail started over near the Linton Drive development.

Behind the corn field, it was just me and some deer tracks.
